City of Witches Chapter 45
The tedious piano lesson.
The alchemy class.
The reading discussion had ended.
Odil and Odette headed straight to the Academy via the Portal installed inside the mansion.
Maintaining and repairing the Portal required an absolutely staggering amount of gold coins.
However, the mountain of wealth belonging to the Zemnarai family, renowned as the wealthiest among the Countess families, was more than sufficient to bear the cost.
They passed through the faculty Corridor and headed to the lecture hall where they always had their classes.
The Twins, having taken their seats, pulled out the thermos they had been carrying in their arms with an unusual air about them.
Their demeanor looked so grave it could be compared to terrorists just before a suicide attack.
"Odette, you're ready, right?"
"Yes, sister."
And with precise measurement, they poured the Potion of Eros into the thermos, glug-glug-glug.
Since Amelia wouldn't drink all the tea, they generously added enough of the Mysterious Potion for two doses.
Anyway, since it contained a generous amount of pink moss, the alchemical catalyst, even a small sip would have a definite effect.
The red black tea and the pink Potion of Eros didn't show much noticeable difference when mixed.
-Tap-tap-tap
If they hadn't hurried a bit, they would have almost been caught.
The sound of Amelia's heels echoed from the hallway.
Odil quickly hid the bottle containing the potion, and Odette vigorously shook the closed thermos to mix it.
"Be quiet."
Since the Twins always chatted before class, Amelia entered the lecture hall with her habitual first greeting telling them to be quiet.
However, she tilted her head at the strangely quiet atmosphere.
Following behind, Siwoo entered with an awkward expression, walking somewhat unsteadily.
Odette avoided Siwoo's eyes, and Odil couldn't look directly at him either.
This was their first meeting since the heated rendezvous in the carriage.
Seeing him again like this, the memories of that day overlapped, making their faces flush for no reason.
Glancing furtively and scrutinizing his lower body in particular, the Twins understood why Siwoo had entered the classroom with such an uncomfortable gait.
He was carrying eight thick textbooks in his arms.
Unbelievable, and probably something one wouldn't want to believe, but that was the amount of homework assigned for a single week.
Amelia's cruelty, which showed no consideration for the students' hardships, allowed the Twins to slightly lessen their guilt towards her.
"Hello, Professor!"
"Hello, Assistant... sir?"
Odette raised her hand slightly to greet Siwoo, then quickly turned her face away.
".....?"
Usually, the Twins would bombard Siwoo with greetings.
Amelia blinked at the awkward reaction, looking back and forth between the Twins and Siwoo.
But she was a diligent professor who sublimated every minute of the three-hour class time into teaching.
"Submit your short papers."
"Yes!"
"Yes, Professor!"
The Twins, who had been pondering the right timing, submitted their week's worth of homework.
To call it a 'paper' was a stretch; it was closer to an assignment reviewing and applying the class content, lacking proper formality.
Amelia's red quill pen danced mercilessly over the Twins' assignments once again.
"Um, Professor Amelia."
"Yes, Miss Odette."
"It seems you always go through a lot of trouble teaching us sisters who are so lacking."
"You're well aware. I don't think I've ever taught like this before, but what is this part?"
"Eek!"
For some reason, the timid Odette cautiously initiated the conversation, but Amelia showed her the assignment bombarded with red ink, her tone laced with clear dissatisfaction.
"Mana distribution calculation is the alpha and omega of Magic. You boldly omitted the calculation formulas, and both the results and the process are full of mistakes."
"I-I'm sorry."
Faced with Amelia's unusually strict demeanor today, Odette was immediately defeated.
She tucked her hands between her knees and bowed her head deeply.
It was understandable, as Amelia's assignments were incredibly high-level, voluminous, and complex.
However, the Twins, who had awakened to the world of sensuality, had put in less than half their usual effort on this week's assignment.
Since Odette had first gauged the atmosphere, Odil didn't even open her mouth and waited until Amelia finished grading.
"Take them."
Odil and Odette took back their assignments, trembling.
Amelia, seemingly in a bad mood, tapped the table with her fingernails.
She could acknowledge a terrible result that came from effort, but there was no forgiveness for students who didn't put in the effort.
That was Amelia's teaching philosophy.
Perhaps because of that, a chilling cold, like dry ice, emanated from Amelia today.
"Very disappointing."
""We're sorry...""
The Twins bowed their heads simultaneously.
Odette's shoulders slumped, looking utterly dejected.
She even seemed frightened.
But Odil was different.
Wasn't this moment, when Amelia's anger was making their skin tingle, the perfect time to most easily see the effect of the Potion of Eros?
That person who was so angry would feel love and cling to the Assistant?
Just the thought made curiosity boil over.
"Professor."
"Yes."
"There's something I'd like to say, if that's okay?"
"Make it brief. I'm contemplating where to start re-teaching from."
Startled, Odette urgently pulled on Odil's skirt under the desk to dissuade her.
'Sister!'
But Odil had already made up her mind.
She took out the tea, now mixed with the Potion of Eros that Odette had been shaking so diligently until just before.
"Actually, we brought tea for you, Professor. It's a cold-brewed tea made from the first leaves harvested from the tea plants in our tea garden."
Cold-brewed tea is made by piling up lots of ice, placing tea leaves in between, and brewing it cold with the water from the melting ice.
"Especially during the blending stage, we infused it with a raspberry scent, so if you drink it cold, you can enjoy its unique aroma."
Odil poured the tea glug-glug into a teacup she had brought separately and handed it to Amelia.
Amelia looked slightly taken aback.
Considering the behavior the Twins had shown until now, this was an incredibly commendable gesture from her students.
"Thank you."
At that moment, Siwoo, who had noticed something, intervened.
No matter how he looked at it, that tea didn't seem to come from purely commendable intentions.
Especially judging by the glint in Odil's eyes, which sparkled just like when she first saw Siwoo's cock.
"Um, Lady Amelia."
He urgently tried to stop Amelia, who was holding the teacup in a textbook-proper, demure posture for tea ceremony.
"What is it?"
"Um, well..."But how am I supposed to say this?
The Twins put some strange potion in the tea?
If I do, it would be like confessing to what happened last time.
But if I say nothing, who knows how Amelia, having drunk the potion, might act out.
"Ah, it's nothing."
Siwoo soon gave up.
He wasn't even sure the Twins had put the Potion of Eros in the tea.
Even if they had, it would have nothing to do with Siwoo.
It would just end with the Twins receiving severe punishment.
"I'll enjoy it."
Amelia slowly drank the cool tea from the cup.
Odil and Odette's gazes were completely fixed on Amelia.
In Odette's case, she had caused a scene, wanting to strip Siwoo, climb on top of him, and get pregnant.
In Odil's case, she had taken his thing in her back hole and received his cum.
So then, what about Amelia?
"Unique."
Siwoo cautiously stepped back, trying to at least stay out of Amelia's sight.
If he could just avoid the condition of having to see the man whose cum she had collected within 10 seconds, the situation would stabilize.
The Twins, sweating in their palms, waited for what was to unfold.
10 seconds.
9 seconds.
8 seconds.
7 seconds.
"Assistant Siwoo."
Amelia turned to look at Siwoo precisely when the countdown remained at 7 seconds.
Siwoo gulped.
If the Twins had indeed played a prank by putting in the potion, the effect should already have taken hold.
Now it was a situation he could neither avoid nor escape.
"How long are you going to hold onto those books?"
"Ah, yes."
Siwoo piled the textbooks Amelia had been holding throughout the grading session onto the desk.
Even so, his gaze remained fixed on Amelia.
"Let's begin the lesson."
And then.
10 minutes passed, 20 minutes passed.
Until the entire lesson was over, no change occurred in Amelia.
Amelia, proceeding with the lesson as calmly as usual, packed the full 3 hours tightly and, as if repaying the Twins for their poor performance today, left behind an amount of homework easily twice the usual volume before leaving.
"Why?"
"I wonder why?"
The Twins, having returned to the Gemarnai Mansion via Portal.
After dinner, marking the end of the day's work, they had about 5 hours until bedtime for personal activities.
Usually, they would go to the study, idly read books, review Amelia's lessons and organize notes, or spend time bathing in the bathroom.
But today was different from usual.
They headed straight to their room and sat on the bed.
"Why...?"
"I wonder why...?"
Odil, and even Odette, had observed Amelia throughout the entire lesson.
And the observational data they obtained fell miserably short of expectations.
Amelia had finished the lesson without changing a single expression, calmly, and then dropped a monstrous homework bomb before leaving.
"Could it be she endured it with superhuman patience?"
"Odette, I assure you, no woman can endure that."
"Maybe the potion's effect wore off?"
"Wouldn't it be more credible that the Autonomous Defense neutralized it?"
"If that were the case, the Professor wouldn't have just let it slide without a word. But nothing really happened."
The Twins let out a deep sigh.
It was a prank whose potential consequences they couldn't fully predict, so there had been a part of them anxiously worried, but now, with no reaction at all, a great disappointment settled in rather than relief.
They had at least hoped to see Professor Amelia staggering with a slight fever like a newborn fawn.
"Odette, bring the book."
"Okay, unnie."
The Twins took out the 'Forbidden Potion Formulary' they had hidden deep under the bed.
This book, with its leather cover impressively discolored from black to a yellowish brown, was a very rare volume excavated from the mansion's old library.
Rumor had it there were only two copies in the world.
As they had flipped through it several times before, finding the page about the Potion of Eros wasn't difficult.
It listed not only the potion's manufacturing method and things to be careful of during the process but also the expected effects and precautions.
"Hmm, it seems to be here. The potion's effect shows a stark difference depending on the experimental subject, and this is distinguished according to the subject's latent sexual consciousness."
"Additionally, cases where the potion's effect is difficult to manifest are described below."
"Experimental subjects who have not experienced menarche, pregnant experimental subjects, experimental subjects with absolutely no aptitude for magic power sensitivity..."
The Twins, having opened the book and huddled their heads together, found their silent reading halted at a certain phrase.
"Furthermore, the potion's effect does not apply to experimental subjects who already love the subject."
"?????????"
Like dolls whose batteries had run out, the Twins tilted their heads simultaneously.
"So, wait. Let's sort this out."
Odil, feeling her thoughts tangling, fanned herself with her palm.
"Professor Amelia must have had her menarche, right?"
"Of course! Can't you tell by looking?"
"Is she pregnant?"
"She's a Witch, isn't she?"
"Having absolutely no aptitude for magic power sensitivity... she probably doesn't, so then..."
"Let's sort it out again. We made the potion using cum collected from the subject, Assistant Siwoo, and gave it to the experimental subject, Professor Amelia. So... Professor Amelia likes Assistant Siwoo?"
An incomprehensible conclusion emerged, throwing the Twins into a panic.
"No way!"
"That can't be!"
And then they fell silent.
Because they reached a clear conclusion before the pondering could last long.
""Aha!""
"This book is trash."
"Yeah, unnie, let's throw it in the fireplace later."
"No, let's do it now."
As if all worries had been resolved and they felt very light, Odil got up, brushed herself off, threw the book into the fireplace, and headed to the bathroom.
"We almost got into big trouble trying to copy something weird we saw."
"Right, I told you old books can't be trusted."
"Let's go bathe together, unnie."
The close sisters walked out with quick steps, and only a single book, burning pitifully and crackling in the fireplace, remained in the room.
The flames licked hungrily, causing the pages to flutter and turn.
